Olivia
Hi, I’m Olivia! I grew up just north of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and am just putting roots down in Ohio. I’ve always loved the water and was a competitive swimmer for five years.

Before joining the Williams County Family YMCA, I spent about a year teaching at Foss Swim School in Minnesota, a program known for producing confident swimmers and even a few Olympic medalists! While there, I developed a strong foundation in technique, safety, and helping kids build comfort and excitement in the water.

Since joining the YMCA aquatics team in 2025, I’ve continued to share that passion through group swim lessons. My favorite moments are seeing a child’s face light up the first time they go underwater or jump into the deep end on their own - it’s pure joy!

Hello! I’m Emily! I grew up in Montpelier, Ohio, where my lifelong love of the water began as a teenager. My first job was as a swim instructor and lifeguard in my hometown, where I also taught water safety classes. I’ve been passionate about helping others feel confident in the water ever since.

After taking time away to raise my family, I returned to teaching swim lessons in 2019 and have loved every minute back in the pool. I truly enjoy working with swimmers of all ages. For me, the best moments are when a child or adult “gets it” and floats for the first time, overcomes their fear, or otherwise make progress.

I always remind my swimmers that I’ll be in the water with them, helping them stay safe and learn proper body positioning. My goal is to help every swimmer develop a healthy respect for the water and the skills to keep themselves safe while also discovering how much fun swimming can be.

Outside the pool, I enjoy spending time with my grandkids, volunteering with Bread of Life Community Center, and being a Zumba instructor.
